About this event

The Yoga4Caregivers Project offers a wide range of free mindful movement classes. Our classes offer simple and accessible breathing exercises, stretches, and guided meditation for all bodies created for the busy caregiver in mind. The lengths of our classes range from 5 minutes to 45 minutes. No experience is necessary.

About this event

Caregivers face significant stress and spend a lot of time in a state of " fight or flight". Chronic stress takes a devastating toll on our physical health and mental well-being that can lead to stress induced health conditions like inflammation, heart disease, anxiety and depression. If you are feeling exhausted, stressed out, and overwhelmed you are not able to offer your high quality care to others. Studies have shown that when Caregivers are able to better care for themselves, they can offer better quality care to those they car for. This is one of the few things that we as Caregivers can have a direct impact.

We invite you to join our online Caregiver Kula, or intentional community of the heart to take micro-steps to relax and nourish your mind, body, and spirit. We have cultivated am empowering community that is supported by our care partners comprised of yoga teachers and wellness practitioners . Many of our volunteers are or have been a caregiver or have been touched by the caregiving experience in some way.

We are proud to parter with the Caregiver Wellness Collective Inc. which aims to make wellness education and services accessible and inclusive for all Caregivers, regardless of race/ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, income level, body size, or disability status. Our primary goal is to empower Caregivers with tools to build the resilience needed for sustainable caregiving.

All of our classes are listed in Eastern Standard Time.

How do I access the class?

You will need to signup with a valid email to outr online private Facebook community which can be found here:

What do I need?

You may wish to have a pillow, blanket or towel, water and/or a chair neear by.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you feel comfortable like leggings, pajamas, sweatpants, or shorts. The main goal for the class is relaxation.

What if I don't want to be on camera?

No worries! Classes held via Facebook Live do not have the ability to see you.

How gentle is "gentle"?

All of our classes are created with accessibility in mind so all the postures will be a mixsture of seated or stading poses with options given for comfort. It's important that you listen to your own body and decide what is right for you.

How much does the class cost?

Our online classes are completely free as an offering to the community as part of the Caregiver Wellness Collective Inc. which aims to provide holistic wellness education and services to Caregivers-inclusive of family, chosen family (LGBTQ) and professional. We welcome your donations so that we can sustain our community offerings.
