Purpose

The Generation WE Summit is a day of connection for maternal figures and their daughters in Baltimore City and the DC area. This summit will provide opportunities for reflection, goal setting, advocacy training, and health/wellness education.

Connect with generations of women as we come together to reflect on the current state of women in urban communities. Reflect with one another about healthy communication practices between generations and within families.

Learn from each other as we discuss the role of women in advocacy, organizing, and the women's movement. BOND with one another as you engage in a PiYo Session and learn healthy eating practices.

FAQs

What can I expect at the Generation WE Summit?

There will be approximately 100 mothers, grandmothers, and daughters from across Baltimore City attending Generation WE. There will be 15 BOND staff onsite to ensure Generation WE is a fun and inspirational event. There will be sessions allowing participants to connect with one another, bond with their mother or daughter, and reflect on their current relationships with the women in their life. Participants will leave with a renewed sense of connection to the women's community in Baltimore and key actions for next steps on our journey together this year.

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Participants should dress comfortably in casual clothing which allows movement. You will choose your sessions, which will dictate the level of casual attire needed. Note: If you choose to attend the Pilates and Yoga session, please dress in exercise clothing for this session.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This event is for mothers and daughters age 7 and older. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21.

Do I have to be a mother or have my mother/daughter with me to attend?

No. While we prefer mother-daughter groups attend our programming, Generation WE is open to all women whether mother, daughter, aunt, grandmother, or maternal figure in someone's life. This is a women's empowerment event and we welcome all women to attend.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Generation WE is located at the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women (BLSYW). Free parking is available in the parking lot located diagonally from the school on the corner of Franklin Street and Park Avenue. Metered parking is available on Park Avenue, Franklin Street and Center Street surrounding BLSYW. Directions to BLSYW can be found here.
