Event description
Generate + Design: Technology to Address Domestic Violence (a two-day event)

About this Event

Is ending domestic violence a priority for you? If you spend time professionally or personally on this issue, please join us to help imagine how technology might help support your goals.

Nonprofit organizations Tech Impact and TechSoup are hosting a day-and-a-half event to consider how technology might help solve problems related to domestic violence. During this event, participants will share pressing concerns and problems, learn how technology can make a difference, and design paper prototypes focused on a particular audience and problem. Expect to be thoughtful, creative, and collaborative. You might also use construction paper and glue; advanced knowledge of technology is not expected or required.

To participate in this event, you must:

  • Understand domestic violence as an issue and the challenges the field faces
  • Be open to new ideas and comfortable collaborating with others in the field
  • Possess basic technology competence, such as the ability to download an app to your smart phone, purchase products online, and receive and send email.

Event participants will have a range of experience and expertise. You might... provide direct services and programs, influence policy decisions, operate a hotline, fund organizations, deliver community education, volunteer at an agency, conduct research, or provide any variety of thought and care to this issue.
