Description
Gender 360 Summit: Positive Girl and Boy Development: Gendered Intersections of Education, Gender-based Violence & Economic Empowerment
June 11, 2018, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm.
A reception will follow from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the FHI 360 Conference Center.
This year's Summit explores the intersections of education, health, economic empowerment and gender-based violence among girls, boys, and youth with diverse gender identities. We will consider these issues in the context of Positive Girl and Boy Development. Positive Girl Development recognizes the intertwined vulnerabilities that girls and young women face, and their strengths, needs and opportunities at different life stages. Positive Boy Development emphasizes the unique strengths, needs, and challenges of boys and young men.
The Summit will highlight innovative approaches and produce action-oriented recommendations on how positive girl and boy development – across gender identity, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, and disability –can strengthen development outcomes.
We are committed to being as inclusive as possible and will make every effort to accommodate needs. Accommodations, such as American Sign Language interpretation, will be available upon request. If you need any accommodation, please reach out directly to cmoore@fhi360.org by May 11, 2018.
