About this Event
Girls Empowerment Movement (GEM) invites girls in grades 6,7 and 8 to the third annual GEMfest -- a day filled with inspiration and education about tools for success in middle school, high school and beyond! Join us to learn, connect and celebrate with amazing women of all ages - with a special emphasis on finding your passion to live your best life.
Keynote Speeches & Fireside Chats with Sophia Amoruso (founder, Girlboss Media, Nasty Gal Clothing), Jennifer Cassetta (self-defense expert), Kellee Kim (contestant, Survivor season 39) and Gorjana Reidel (founder, gorjana Jewelry)
Marketplace where girls can explore and engage with local businesses and non-profit organizations
Workshops include Behind the Screen, Intro to Bullet Journaling, Coding, Find Your Drive, Grow Through What You Go Through, Public Speaking, Science Scoop, She Warrior Self-Defense, Science Scoop and Yoga for Students
*** Plus special adult workshop for parents & educators on habits to help middle school girls thrive ***
Lunch with Mentors - connect with high school age GEM volunteers to get the real story on how to do your best in middle school, high school and beyond
Plus performances, snacks, selfies, swag bags and more!!
Parents/ guardians are NOT required to attend GEMfest (girls will be supervised at all times during GEMfest), but for those would would like to do, GEMfest offers a limited number of adult tickets that include access to the keynote speeches, marketplace and adult workshop.
Scholarships are available for any girl who would not otherwise be able to attend - please email olinst@sagehillschool.org for details.
