Description
The Second Annual GEMfest will provide middle school girls (grades 6 through 8) inspiration and education about tools for success in middle school, high school and beyond! Join us for a day of learning and celebration with amazing women of all ages - with a special emphasis on promoting physical and emotional health and wellness so girls can lead their best lives!
Keynote Speakers Kamie Crawford (Miss Teen USA 2010, MTV co-host and advocate for diversity and inclusivity in beauty and fashion) and Victoria Garrick (USC Volleyball player and mental health advocate)
Workshops on Coding, Creativity for Self-Care, Find Your Drive, Hula Hooping for Fun and Exercise, Public Speaking, Telling Your Story, The Confetti Project and Yoga for Students
Healthy Habits Panel - experts in nutrition, psychology, medicine, fitness and more will share their knowledge and recommendations for how girls can lead their best lives in middle school, high school and beyond; with Sadie Radinsky (16 year old chef and healthy food blogger), Daisy Renteria (Orange Theory Fitness Head Coach/ American Ninja Warrior season 9 competitor), Dr. Kelsey Rose (UCLA resident in women’s medicine) and Aurora Kaye (youth advocate and USC graduate student in marriage and family therapy)
Socal Media Panel - influencers and content creators will share the REAL story behind what you see on the internet and how to avoid FOMO, comparison and negativity; with Alexa Losey (YouTube Influencer), Krissy Saleh (photographer and content creator) and more TBD
Lunch with Mentors - connect with GEM volunteers to get the real story on how to do your best in high school and beyond
Photos with The Confetti Project - celebrate YOU with a special photo!
Parents/ guardians are NOT required to attend GEMfest, but for those would would like to do, GEMfest offers a limited number of adult tickets that include access to the keynote speeches, panels and a workshop with Sage Hill School’s Head of School, Patricia Merz and School Counselor Mike Prevost, including discussion and a Q&A session for parents and guardians focused on helping your daughter thrive academically and emotionally during middle school.
Scholarships are available for any girl who would not otherwise be able to attend - please email olinst@sagehillschool.org for details.
