Scholars and artists will use the Gee’s Bend quilts and prints as a starting point from which to discuss the broader theme of translation in fine art.
Participants include: Dr. Bernard Herman (keynote speaker), William Arnett, Dr. Alvia Wardlaw, Louisiana Bendolph, Dr. Karin Petersen, Jennifer Duncan, Emma Parker, Marilyn Zapf, and Dr. Julie Levin Caro.
Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Gee’s Bend: From Quilts to Prints on view at Benchspace Gallery & Workshop, The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design and Elizabeth Holden Gallery, Warren Wilson College.
