Description

GDPR – Practical Implementation and Updates

Please join WiE Silicon Valley in our effort to further women’s careers in tech and influence change. Laura Berton, Merina Taskova, and Melissa Layton are our dynamic speakers on “GDPR – Practical Implementation and Updates.” U.S. companies continue to struggle to make sense of and comply with the new European privacy laws including GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive (soon to be ePrivacy Regulations), and the NIS Directive (Directive on Security and Information Systems). Based upon their extensive experience helping U.S companies do just that, European-qualified lawyers Laura Berton, Mirena Taskova and Melissa Layton will provide practical advice on tackling this seemingly monumental task, one step at a time.

Laura, Mirena, and Melissa will guide you through understanding if European privacy laws do apply to you and if so your responsibilities as a data processor or controller. They will also tackle practical steps you need to take to ensure that your company is GDPR, NIS and ePrivacy "ready", including what tasks to prioritize and what to focus on when negotiating data protection agreements or clauses.

Thank you to OpenText/Catalyst for graciously sponsoring lunch for this event.
