Event description

Description

This is an all day course or you can split it into one or either session dependent on how much you already know about the General Data Protection Regulation's (GDPR) requirements.

There is lots of information about GDPR available but what we are hearing is that businesses are struggling to understand what the legislation means for them and what they need to be able to do to comply.

When signing up for both sessions, lunch is included :-) The details of both sessions are shown below.

MORNING SESSION

Getting the basics in place

Duration: ½ day 09:30 – 12:30

Course Description:

This course is for you if:

You want to understand how GDPR will impact on your business and need easy to implement ideas and solutions.

What will it cover?

This morning workshop includes short presentations, practical examples, and delegate input. You will have the opportunity to ask specific questions about how GDPR affects your business and how to implement GDPR for your situation via a 'question wall'. This session will cover how to collect information for your business, mailing lists and ensuring that the information you have collected is held securely. You'll get to grips with the essential parts of the legislation for your organisation.

What will you leave with:

- A clear understanding of the action you need to take to meet the basic requirements of GDPR

- Ideas and solutions you can implement straight away which are directly relevant to you and your business

AFTERNOON SESSION

Understanding the complexities of GDPR

Some of the information you collect is classed as sensitive personal information. i.e. it includes details about an individual’s health or wellbeing, their criminal record, their sexual orientation, their ethnicity, racial origin, political opinions or religious beliefs.

What will it cover?

This session will look at the more complex aspects of the GDPR requirements. It will cover contracts, data controller and data processor obligations, sharing information, Subject access requests and using the cloud securely.

What you will leave with:
