SPECIAL SHORT COURSE OPTION
This year there will be a special short course option for K-8 teachers to participate in the STEM Experiences for Educators and Leaders (SEEL) program sponsored by CSU Channel Islands and VC STEM Network. This event provides educators with a hands-on preview of the CSU Science Carnival taking place on the evening of November 4th. Conference participants who sign up for this short course will get a reserved spot for the SEEL program and priority access to lunch so that they can drive over in time to attend the SEEL event which starts at 1:00 pm at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School in Oxnard. This short course is FREE but space is limited. To sign up, select this short course option when purchasing your conference registration. A NOTE ABOUT THIS YEAR'S CONFERENCE THEME...
In 2016 Ventura County was designated as a STEM Learning Ecoystem due to its efforts to create collaborative relationships that support STEM Education across multiple domains: formal education, informal education, business and industry, and the community in general. For more than 20 years, GCSN has played an important role in helping to develop and nurture this ecosystem, to include outreach to the surrounding counties of Los Angeles, Kern, and Santa Barbara. The GCSN Conference for STEM Education continues to bring teachers and the community together to share ideas and build inter-agency partnerships and collaborations across our beautiful gold coast and southcentral California.
