Event description

Description

Birkbeck GCRF sponsored AMR workshop is to build international capacity to tackle antimicrobial drug resistance in tuberculosis (TB). There will be a number of short talks by the international experts, poster presentation sessions and a networking lunch.

Antimicrobial drug resistance (AMR) threatens the effective control of tuberculosis (TB) caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. AMR is an increasingly global public health and wellbeing challenge that has the potential to cause catastrophic impact internationally. We have recognised this threat and the need to intergrate interdisciplinary research approaches to help solve the problem through the generation of new knowledge, prevention, detection, treatments and educational tools. Following this will be an opportunity for us to identify new, interdisciplinary projects to develop into funding applications for participating organisations to contribute to the global effort to reverse AMR.
