GC Artist Spotlight: Keylah Mellon
Grandchamps Artist Spotlight gives artists a space to display their creations as well as a platform to tell their stories. We seek artists of the community in order to support and showcase local talent.
Keylah Mellon is a Haitian-American documentary & portrait photographer based in New York. A certain sensitivity to the human condition pushes her to photograph the world as it is revealing its multidimensional quality. Trained in fine arts with a concentration in photography, she now holds Master of Science in Integrated Marketing.
Mellon gives us a unique perspective on growing up in Haiti in the "Andeyò" series. Often we are exposed to the destitution and poverty of our beloved country but what of its beauty? In this exhibit we bear witness to humanity. "This on going series is as much a glimpse of my home country as it is an introspection of my family, the friends I grew up with, and ultimately of my becoming."
Join us for the opening of the exhibit which will include an exclusive Q+A with the artist.
