This year's Virtual Gaucho Professionals Expo will take place from October 12-23, with something for everyone! Join us for as many sessions as you can. For the most updated information on sessions, speakers, dates, and times - visit the Gaucho Professionals Expo website.

Keynote Speakers:

10/12 - The State of the Economy During COVID-19: Dr. Peter Rupert, Professor of Economics and Executive Director of the UCSB Economic Forecast Project, will distill data from the changing pandemic landscape and offer insights into the scope of COVID-19's impact on the economy.

10/19 - Your Job Search During COVID-19: Dana Manciagli '82, President and Founder of Job Search Master Class, will offer concrete tips to help you maximize your job search, identify job leads, and remain positive during times of change.

10/13 - Gauchos and Venture Capital: Join us for a conversation with a Gaucho venture capitalist and two Gaucho-founded companies that he helped to fund. (Arvind Gupta - Founder/Venture Advisor, IndieBio; Damien Kudela PhD - Founder/CEO, Cayuga Biotech; Melanie Matheu - Founder/CEO, Prellis Biologics)

10/14 - Gaucho Health and Wellness: Hear about innovative advances in the CBD and cannabinoid science arena. Christopher will share his journey from co-founding The Honest Company to now working at the intersection of beauty, wellness, and healthcare. 10/15 - Succeeding in Tech: How I Got Here and Where the Industry is Heading: Meet UCSB alumni working in the tech industry, as they share their professional journeys and offer insights into where the field is going and the challenges that lie ahead. 10/16 - Spotlight on Gaucho Founders - Technology: Join Gaucho alums as they share their professional journeys and offer insights into their experiences of starting a technology company. (Chuck Goetschel - Co-Founder/CEO, Rallio, Inc.; Jay Freeman - Co-Founder/CTO - Orchid; Yulun Wang PhD - Founder, InTouchHealth)

10/19 - Spotlight on Gaucho Founders - Biotechnology: Join Gaucho alums as they share their professional journeys and offer insights into their experiences of starting a biotechnology company. (Todd DeSantis, Co-Founder/VP of Informatics, Second Genome; Bradley Patt PhD - Chairman/CEO, TheraCell, Inc.; Brenton Taylor - Executive VP of Engineering, Inogen)

10/20 - Is Grad School Right For You? What program should you consider? How do you get started? Join this session and discuss taking the next leap in your academic/professional career. (Fernando Pena - Director of Admissions and Recruitment, San Francisco State University)

10/21 - Pivoting Away from the Academy: Not sure what to do when the tenure track is not right for you? Join us for a lively discussion as a panel of doctoral alumni share their paths beyond the academic ladder. (Dr. Anna Sandoval Giron - Research Sociologist, U.S. Census Bureau; Dr. Arturo Gonzalez - Director and Global Head of Policy Advocacy & Research, Facebook; Dr. Sarah Kriz - Lead Cognitive Psychologist, MITRE Corporation; Dr. Chris Martin - Co-Director of Science, Kavli Foundation)

10/21 - Hone Your Craft - How to Take Your Competitive Skill Set to Market: Brooke will be sharing recruiter tips and tricks for your next job search. From how and where to apply for jobs, to how best to build your resume and prepare for interviews, this session for young professionals will help you position yourself for your next role. 10/23 - Career Pivots - Actionable Advice to Help you Change Industries and Re-Align Your Brand: A panel of UC alumni will discuss preparing for a career change, identifying opportunities, and leveraging your strengths to successfully pivot to a new industry or field.
