WHAT HAVE PLANTS EVER DONE FOR US? A fascinating talk by the former head of Oxford Botanical Gardens, Timothy Walker, in the Jubilee Hall.
About this event
Seer Green Gardeners are delighted to welcome Timothy Walker to the village to speak. He was a roaring success at last year's virtual SpringFest, and we are very pleased that for this year's SpringFest he is going to be delivering his talk in person.
Rarely does a minute go by when we are not involved in an activity that would be impossible without the help of plants. This talk looks at mankind’s dependence on plants for everything from food to film and from painkillers to paint. It also examines the ways in which our exploitation of plants could keep up with demand from an increasing global population and what we as individuals can do to help future generations. The second part of the talk will also include practical gardening tips. We hope that there will also be time at the end for Timothy to answer questions.
Seer Green Gardeners are very grateful to Jordans Environment Trust for sponsoring this event. Because of this sponsorship, tickets are only £5 each (plus booking fee), to include either a glass of wine or a soft drink. There is also the opportunity to make an additional donation to OneCan, the food bank charity, when purchasing your admission tickets.
