This class is the sixth in the Extension Gardener: Gardening in the Mountains series with the NC State Extension, Haywood County Center. Join Sam Marshall (Horticulture Agent) and the Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Haywood County in this series of 7 classes as we tackle common home gardening topics from warm-season vegetables, to lawns, to native plants. Each class is standalone; sign up for the classes that meet your individual interests.

In this class, participants will learn about ornamental trees and shrubs that work well in Western North Carolina gardens. We will discuss tried and true varieties as well as newer releases of some of your old favorites. Other topics include:

Choosing plants

Buying & planting

Mulching, fertilizing & watering

A sampling of trees for WNC

Tree & shrub identification tools

Class will be on Thursday, May 27th from 10a-12p.

The cost of this class is $10.00, payable when you register for this session. We will email you a link for the Zoom session and any pre-class handouts. If for some reason the signup link doesn't work or the course is full, email mgarticles@charter.net and we'll endeavor to fix the problem and/or put you on a list for future sessions.
