Event description
Online introduction to key concepts and practices for engaging in a holistic, spiritually-based approach to land management.

About this Event

In the months when the ground is frozen but the nights are getting shorter, it's not too early to begin planning for the growing season. At Mission Farm, we are committed to taking the time to integrate spiritual practice into our growing plan - as well as sitting with the land to ask what is being invited.

You are welcome to join us, and to bring your questions, and longings for learning how to speak and listen with your own garden or landscape - whether that is a patio space or 500 acres of wilderness. This evening will introduce the concept of holistic land management as well as give background on some concrete spiritual tools and practices for listening to the land and working with the energies present in your landscape.

Lisa McCrory is a holistic land management consultant in Bethel Vermont. She has more than three decades of experience managing lands with grazing and incorporating spiritual practices, like dowsing and Biodynamics, into her management plans. She has worked for NOFA-VT, UVM and has taught at Vermont Technical College. She has a passionate heart for teaching, and is a skilled practitioner. She and her husband Carl Russell live and work at Earthwise Farm and Forest in Bethel. They are a draft-animal powered diversified farm. "We believe that our farming practices should not only nourish our bodies with food, but that they should be enhancing, protecting, and investing in the soil and biological communities that make up our farm environment." Carl Russell (Lisa's Husband) Learn more about them here: https://www.earthwisefarmandforest.com/

This introductory course is intended as a companion to the event in March with the same title. Attendance at both is recommended but not required for participation. This event will focus on concepts and beginning to engage the mind and heart in planning. The event in March will be a hand's on practicum taking place at Mission Farm (provided that COVID restrictions allow for safe gathering).

We do not want cost to be a barrier to attendance. If you would like to attend but are unable to offer a donation at this time (or if you would rather pay by cash or check), simply use the promo code FreeGrace during checkout.
