Event description
A morning learning spiritual practices for land management and working in harmony with the energies present in your garden and landscape.

About this Event

You are invited to Mission Farm for a hand's on morning class with teacher and consultant Lisa McCrory (Earthwise Farm and Forest). This class will focus on practical processes for listening to the land, responding to and learning about the energies present in a landscape, and creating a holistic land management plan in cooperation with the land itself. Whether you have a patio garden or 500 acres of wilderness to care for you will leave with a sense of how you can be present with the land that sustains you.

Lisa McCrory is a holistic land management consultant in Bethel Vermont. She has more than three decades of experience managing lands with grazing and incorporating spiritual practices, like dowsing and Biodynamics, Reiki, and Shamanism, into her management plans. She has worked for NOFA-VT, UVM, and has taught at Vermont Technical College. She has a passionate heart for teaching, and is a skilled practitioner. She and her husband Carl Russell live and work at Earthwise Farm and Forest in Bethel. They are a draft-animal powered diversified farm. "We believe that our farming practices should not only nourish our bodies with food, but that they should be enhancing, protecting, and investing in the soil and biological communities that make up our farm environment," says Carl Russell (Lisa's Husband) Learn more about them here: https://www.earthwisefarmandforest.com/

This "practicum" is intended to compliment the February event at Mission Farm with the same name, but attendance at that event is not mandatory for participation in this class. Space is limited, and (as with everything in life these days!) our ability to host this as an in-person workshop will be dependent on the COVID restrictions and protocols in place at the time the event is scheduled. The donations collected from this class will go to the support of a grazing management plan here at Mission Farm, which involves the purchase of and care for our own hoofed grazers! Your generosity will help us bring this vision into being. We do not want cost to be a barrier though, so if you are unable to donate at this time (or if you would prefer to donate by cash or check) please use the promo code "FreeGrace" at checkout.
