Event description

Description

Please join the New Jersey State Society and the New Jersey Group for our annual Garden State Capitol Reception Wednesday, July 19, 2017, 5:30 to 7:30 in the US Capitol CVC Atrium.

You don't want to miss this Jersey happening in DC! Enjoy complimentary appetizers and open bar and the camaraderie of fellow New Jerseyans.

We are pleased to announce that we will be welcoming Rep. Josh Gottheimer, the newest Member of the New Jersey Congressional Delegation! This is a great tradition of ours for new Members of Congress.

We will also have a display of the history of the New Jersey State Society and New Jersey Group at which you will learn some interesting facts about Garden State's presence in the Nation's Capital since the late 1800s.

You are welcome to bring one guest. Please be sure to fill in the job title and affiliation for you and your guest, as this serves as your name tag(s). You may also enter "guest" "guest" instead and we will adjust your name tag manually to reflect just your name.

DIRECTIONS: Enter the US Capitol Visitors Center using the long, downward sloping walkway across the street from the Supreme Court.

AFTER you enter and clear the security screening, walk through the set of doors and STOP. Do not go through the next set of doors, but immediately make a 180 degree pivot and look up. You will see the words "Congressional Auditorium." Go through those doors and get your nametag and then proceed down the stairs to the Atrium Hall.

PARKING and METRO: There is street parking in the blocks surrounding the Supreme Court. There is also plentiful parking a few rather long blocks away at Union Station. Best bet (under normal circumstances) is to METRO to the Capitol South Metro, blue and orange lines.
