COURSE The 5K race is open to all runners of all ages and abilities. The race is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. so participants can experience the illuminated park. The course is certified by USA Track and Field as accurately measured. The course begins and ends at the bottom of Honor Heights Park and winds through the beautiful Garden of Lights. The course is gently rolling with one steep climb and descent just before and after the turn around. Net proceeds will benefit Honor Heights Park and Veteran's causes.

The 1K will start shortly after the 5K. This course is a loop that begins and ends at the foot of the park.
The run is located at Honor Heights Park in Muskogee, OK. Start and finish occur just outside of the Papilion.
Parking: Parking & packet pick-up will be located at the Georgia Pacific Soccer Complex at Hatbox field. There will be a free continuous shuttle service beginning at 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm from the Complex to the park for all runners and spectators. Shuttle time is apx. 7 minutes. There will no parking at the Park due to the Holiday Lights in the park. Return shuttles will run continuously until 7:00pm.
From the North: Take Hwy. 69 South. Turn west (right) on Okmulgee St. Turn south (left) on 40th St and follow the signs.
From the East: Take Hwy. 62 to Hwy. 69. Turn south (left) on Hwy. 69. Turn west (right) on Okmulgee St. Turn south (left) on 40th St and follow the signs.
From the South: Take Hwy. 69 North. Once in Muskogee, turn west (left) on Okmulgee St. Turn south (left) on 40th St and follow the signs.
5K – Prizes will be awarded to the first three males and females in each age group. Awards will be presented beginning at 5:45.
8 and under, 9-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24…and so on, in five-year increments to 70+. There are currently no weight divisions.
BEST HOLIDAY OUTFIT
Trophies will be presented to the best male & female holiday outfit so get creative! And keep in mind it is the Garden of “Lights” Run.
Don’t leave after the run. Stick around for door prizes after the winners are announced! Live music will also be provided!
Race packets containing race number, disposable timing chip and t-shirt, can be picked up on race day beginning at 2 p.m. at the Georgia Pacific Soccer Complex (see Parking instructions).PLEASE PLAN ON ARRIVING AT LEAST ONE HOUR EARLY. LATE ARRIVALS MAY MISS THE START GUN.
Post-race snacks & beverages will be provided. There will be beer so please bring your id if you would like to partake. Wristbands can be obtained with proper id at the packet pick-up location pre-race.
Our mission as an organization is to improve and develop Honor Heights Park facilities and gardens and to participate in activities for the betterment of the Park through events, including, but not limited to the following: special work projects, special programs, special events, educational activities and communications, special exhibits, fund raising activities and events.
Friends of HHP will act as a base of support for Honor Heights Park by assisting the park staff, raising funds and accepting donations to aid park operations, and act as a link between the park and surrounding community.
