Event description

Description

The Garden of Hope is a two-acre vegetable garden on Ohio State’s Waterman Farm. The mission of the garden is to introduce cancer survivors, including caregivers, to evidence-based nutritional information and education on the benefits of a plant-based diet. All harvesters are required to complete a classroom orientation and complete the necessary paperwork prior to harvesting.

Participation is limited to cancer survivors or caregivers who are new to the program in 2017, or who participated in 2016 for the first time.

In this orientation you will learn about the mission of the garden, hear from a clinical dietitian about the benefits of a plant-based diet, receive information about the harvest schedule and preview of the produce that will be available to pick. You will receive your harvest bag and have the opportunity visit and harvest from the Garden of Hope that night.

Parking: Free visitor parking is available in surface lot onsite.
