Description

GARDEN ECOSYSTEMS AND PEST CONTROL

When pests are causing damage in our gardens, we often reach for that "quick fix" that might slow the pest down or wipe him out completely. However, sometimes the solution is right under our…hose.

During this workshop, Tarrant Area Food Bank staff will show you how to take organic gardening beyond eliminating synthetic pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers and create a space for your crops to thrive. This workshop will provide a guide on how to build your garden’s ecosystem and how that ecosystem relates to pest control.

Join us for this intermediate workshop that will cover:

  • Healthy garden ecosystems
  • Pests that can cause damage in gardens
  • Methods to deter pests before they cause damage
  • Quick fixes for pests when things get out of hand

We hope to see you there!

Workshops may be held outdoors. We suggest wearing layers of weather-appropriate clothing that you do not mind getting dirty and closed-toed shoes.
