Garden District Walking Tour
Sun, Jun 25, 2017, 1:00 PM – Mon, Jun 26, 2017, 3:00 PM CDT
Enjoy a walking tour of The Garden District with award winning tour guide Randy Bibb. Stroll down shady streets, view lush gardens and ornate iron fences, learn of the extraordinary wealth that was acquired with astounding speed and ease by the antebellum Americans who flooded into the otherwise Creole city in the years leading up to the Civil War. Plus: A visit to Lafayette Cemetery #1 to see the above ground tombs and below ground burials of the inhabitants of this remarkable neighborhood.
Meet outside on sidewalk in front of Still Perkin' Coffee Shop, corner of Prytania & Washington Sts. Please arrive 15 minutes before tour time. If coming by streetcar from the French Quarter, allow 30 minutes of travel time.
This is a walking tour - wear comfortable shoes, a wide brimmed hat and it never hurts to bring an umbrella as the weather in New Orleans is changeable and unpredictable.
