Meeting the educational needs of the modern, best practice gaming and casino regulator

This 6 day program is specifically designed for casino and gaming regulators, taking into consideration experiences in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Europe and the United States.

Delivered by expert faculty from the International Centre for Gaming Regulation, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in consultation with Liquor & Gaming NSW and subject matter experts, participatation will build your supervisory capacity and regulatory capability.

The certificate program will cover best practice in casino and gaming regulation and responsible gambling, through classrom based teaching, case studies, group discussion, and an offsite, practical session at a casino.

Program Includes:

  • Lecures and workshops from expert faculty and subject matter experts
  • All course materials, including pre-course reading
  • Certificate of Completion from the University of Nevada, LasVegas
  • Welcome networking event and final dinner
  • Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea 12-16 August
  • Hotel accomodation (Novotel) available at additional expense (see below)

Program outline:

Sunday 11 August:

Evening welcome reception and networking event. An opportunity to meet with fellow regulators

Day 1 - Monday 12 August:

Why regulation & how to regulate gambling policy. Current issues in regulation. Risk-based v rules based regulation. Creating a gaming regulatory system. Licensing, probity reviews and investigations

Day 2 - Tuesday 13 August:

Current issues in responsible gambling. Effective responsible gambling measures and protections with technology. Internal controls - Purpose. Internal Controls - Functions.

Day 3 - Wednesday 14 August:

Current issues in money laundering protection. Anti-money laundering review. Casino Management Systems. Junkets and VIP/Premium Play. Intelligence gathering and risk mitigation. Preparing and planning for regulatory audit.

Day 4 - Thursday 15 August:

Compliance programs and compliance audit approaches. Regulatory investigations and enforcement. Disciplinary actions. Offsite session at casino training academy.

Closing dinner & cocktails

Day 5 - Friday 16 August:

Regulatory and gaming innovation. Identifying future and emerging risks - use of regulatory and business intelligence. Best practices in third party testing. Casinos & cybersecurity. Casino of the future.

Conclusion - presentation of certificates

No. This educational program has been specifically tailored for casino and gaming regulators

What happens if I register and I am not a casino or gaming regulator?

If you are not a casino or gaming regulator you will not be able to attend. Whilst all efforts will be made to refund the cost of registration, charges may well apply
