Now that the holidays are upon us, how's about we all get together with some of our all-time favourite games and nut it out to see who can claim the title of "Game Master".
There will be plenty of games to suit everyones abilities and preferences and if we all chip in a little I think we'll have more table snacks than we'll know what to do with. Of course that's not even remotely true, but maybe we can fight the kids off for the odd jaffa or chip.
As we'll have kids of many different ages and attention spans please be mindful of the types of games you bring. My daughter, Lucca (age 5), won't be sitting down for an intense game of Trivial Pursuit, and I don't think 'SNAP' will captivate an older kid for very long.
If you are interested in coming but you don't have any games - fear not. On the night we'll be able to put together tables of suitable ages and it's an awesome opportunity for us dads to spend some time working alongside our kids (or against our kids - if that's how the game is played!).
> We will start playing the games at 4:30pm
> We'll order pizzas shortly after ($5 per person collected at the door)
> If you could bring your own snacks (please adhere to the school's policy regarding nuts, eggs and honey)
> Please bring a game of your own (that you know the rules of). No stress if you can't, but the more the merrier.
> Every child must have (at least) one of their parents present - that is, after all, the whole purpose of the event!
> We request that all devices (iPads, kids with phones, etc) be left at home.
> If a number of the kids have lost interest after an hour or so I'll have a movie (latest "Charlie Brown") at the ready.
