Gameheads’ Oakland Video Game Fest
On December 2-4, celebrate multiculturalism and tech at Gameheads’ Oakland Video Game Fest. The event features a game jam, bringing together aspiring game developers ages 15-24 to plan, design and create a video game within the span of 48 hours. The event also features game design and development workshops for students and adults taught by industry professionals; exhibit booths showcasing indie games, artists and other showcases of STEAM talent from the community; a play space with curated video games; and more.
To kick start the weekend of innovation, Gameheads is hosting a 90s retro music mixer “The Evolution: The Beatboy, The Graffiti Artist, The Gamehead," Friday Dec. 2 at the Kapor Center Rooftop. The night will be highlighted with a fireside chat with Damon Packwood, Executive Director of Gameheads, and Randy Riggins, Sr. Engineering Manager at Adobe, sharing their experiences on diversity in tech, the genius behind the gamehead, and the story behind Adobe Project 1324.
