Learn how to make games! In Game Design Lab, you'll create your own fun games while learning programming concepts and the game design process. This 8-week afterschool program for middle schoolers will give you the fundamental skills you need to become a game developer.

- Plan out your game's setting
- Develop gameplay mechanics like movement and powerups
- Create pixel art, sound effects, and music
- Track down bugs and fix your code
We'll have guest speakers from the industry to answer your questions. Finally, you get to show off your game to friends and family at the Game Release Party on Dec. 15!
Game Design Lab teaches students GameMaker: Studio, software that's used by professionals to make popular commercial games like Hyper Light Drifter and Spelunky. Game Design Lab graduates can use a free version of the software to keep working on their games after finishing the program. You take home your all your game files and source code!
Grades 6 - 8 (ages 11-14)
Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:00 to 6:00 pm, from October 25 to December 15 (8 weeks). No class Thursday 11/24 (Thanksgiving).
