About this Event

DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS REGARDING THE COVID19 VIRUS, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month, and a great opportunity for us to learn more about the risks of gambling. In Oregon, an estimated 2.6% of adults are disordered gamblers, and 5.4% of adults are at risk of developing disordered gambling. With ever increasing opportunities to gamble, understanding the signs and symptoms of problem gambling is an increasingly important thing for everyone to know.

Join Bridgeway Recovery, Marion County Problem Gambling Prevention, and the Oregon Council on Problem Gambling as we explore the true cost of problem gambling, how to prevent and treat it, and what we can all do to positively impact the lives of our loved ones and our community.

Additionally, awards will be handed out to Marion County's Top-5 middle school art contest winners! Every year the Oregon Health Authority publishes a Problem Gambling Awareness calendar featuring the art of middle school students from around the state. During the event you will have an opportunity to see the impact of problem gambling through the eyes of youth in our community.

Free Lunch is Provided!

The event will start at 11:30 am with lunch and a chance to visit with community resources for people affected by gambling. The main presentation will begin around Noon and end at 1, with time after to enjoy the youth's art that will be on display.
