Galveston Hurricane Tour promotes exploration and discovery at the crossroads of science and history. The tour provides a comprehensive history of Galveston hurricanes, with a focus on historic impacts and scientific advances. This driving tour visits before-and-after sites from the 1900 Storm and Grade Raising, location of Galveston's Grade Raising canal, high water marks from five hurricanes, neighborhoods rebuilt after the 1900 Storm, and site of the world's first televised weather radar broadcast. The goal of our explorations is applied science/ history, where lessons learned can be applied to life today and transform perspectives on tomorrow.
