GUEST SPEAKERS

"Advent, A Time of Waiting" - Charlene Alexander

Charlene Alexander, originally from Dayton, OH, has a BA in Education and Development, an MA with a focus on Christian Marriage, and will soon be fully certified through the Theology of the Body Institute in Pennsylvania. Charlene has been a friend of Cana of Houston for several years. Her call to spiritual motherhood as a consecrated woman has generated in her heart a strong passion for strengthening young families. This passion has led her to giving spiritual direction, talks and retreats to hundreds of moms in Texas and around the United States. Come and hear Charlene help us prepare our hearts to radiate goodness through all of the busyness of the Advent season!

"The Nature of Gift" - Laurie Medina

Laurie Medina is a graduate of Texas A&M University and a first-year participant in the Echo Graduate Service program, through which she has been sent to work at a parish in Houston while working on her Masters in Theology through the University of Notre Dame. When she isn’t studying or at work, she loves being creative, spending time outside, having heart conversations over coffee, and finding beauty in the holy ordinary. She has a heart for empowering women and hopes to continue to use her gifts in serving the Church in ministry, and by pursuing a career in Marriage and Family Therapy. Laurie will help us to grow in waiting on Our Lord with confidence, active hope, and surrender in all of our challenges of motherhood.
