Event description

Description

The Heritage Festival will focus on 3 major elements of the making of our Great American Little Town: cultural diversity, impact of the railroad on Galt’s founding, and the impact of agriculture to the lifestyle and economy of Galt. It is a free community event with cultural performers, kids’ zone with free games and a bounce house, food and vendors. Performers representing Miwok, Portuguese, Mexican, Scottish, Swiss, Punjabi, and Asian cultures will take the stage to entertain and inform. The youthful vitality of our community will be represented by students from Galt’s high schools, as drama students and cheerleaders bring their talents to the stage. Come celebrate the cultural diversity that represents the Galt community today. Get to know more about Galt, its heritage, past and present. Festival goers will be able to watch model railroad displays in the Chabolla Center set up by the Sacramento Modular Railroaders and the Sacramento Valley Garden Railway Society. The Galt Heritage Festival will also join in recognizing the contributions of the Farm Bureau of Sacramento County in celebrating 100 years of service to the community.
