Gallery Tour: Selfies Before Smartphones
Thu, April 6, 2017, 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM EDT
How do people see themselves?
Today, you can analyze their Instagram feeds. (Are they facetune-dependent? Seen only in bathroom mirrors?) But in the centuries preceding smartphones, self-involvement was a little more complicated. On this private, docent-led tour, see how artists created self-portraits and in turn, examined their self-image. Following the tour, visit the cash bar in the Cloister and snap a pic in the selfie photo station.
Pre-registration is required; tickets are free for Circle 2445 members and $10 for non-members*. Space is limited to 20 participants, so be sure to book early!
