Event description
The Galilee Chamber Orchestra's North American debut concert!

About this Event

The Galilee Chamber Orchestra comes to Dallas for the first performance on its North American debut tour! Led by pianist and conductor Saleem Ashkar, the Orchestra brings together Arab and Jewish musicians from throughout Israel, including Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa, and Nazareth.

Its members include musicians from the Israeli Philharmonic, professional musicians and educators, and 15 of Polyphony’s most advanced Conservatory students, Seminar participants, and Conservatory graduates (between 17 and 26 years old).

The Orchestra’s North American debut will continue in Toronto on December 5 and conclude at Carnegie Hall on December 7. The final performance will feature renowned lyric soprano and longtime Polyphony supporter Renée Fleming as well as celebrated pianist Daniil Trifonov.

Last summer, the Galilee Chamber Orchestra reached a significant milestone with its debut European tour. The ensemble gave four performances in Germany at the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Christuskirche Hannover, the Osnabrück Music Festival, and at the Rheingau Festival.

The Orchestra is a program of the Polyphony Foundation, a U.S. based not-for-profit organization whose work is supported by generous individual contributors and institutional funding.

We grateful to our hosts at Temple Emanu-El and our long-time partners in Dallas whose passion and dedication has been a vital component of Polyphony's growth and success since 2012.
