While our Valentine’s Night event is always a big hit, we want to have a special session to celebrate the ladies this year, so grab your gal pals and celebrate with the Observatory’s first annual Galentine’s Day brunch! The event will be held Sunday, February 12, 2022 at the Observatory and will include a delicious brunch, Mimosa bar, and a program on Women in Astronomy (and at the Observatory!). We’ll also have some extra surprises to make the event special, as well as solar viewing (weather permitting). Each attendee will be eligible for prizes throughout the event, and everyone will take home a self care Galentine’s themed goody bag. We look forward to seeing you and your girls at the Observatory on February 12! Seating is extremely limited and we anticipate this event will sell out. Get your tickets soon! 21+ only, please

The Cincinnati Observatory is known as ‘The Birthplace of American Astronomy.’ It houses one of the oldest working telescopes in the world and was the first public observatory in the western hemisphere. Recently restored to its original beauty, the Observatory is a fully functioning 19th century observatory used daily by the public and amateur astronomers. The main telescopes are an 11-inch Merz and Mahler refractor from 1845 and a 16-inch Alvan Clark and Sons refractor from 1904. The historic buildings are designated as a National Historic Landmark, and the grounds provide a serene, park-like setting while still being centrally located in the city of Cincinnati.
