Event Details

CoachArt’s Gala of Champions is a night filled with fun and festivities. This event has become the premiere scene for the digital community and features some of the top digital minds in the country.

Last year the digital spot light included executives from Disney Interactive, The Grammys, Warner Bros. Digital, AdLy, Electus Entertainment and honoree Robert Kyncl of YouTube/Google.

Besides being host to the top 100 in digital media, Gala of Champions is the premiere annual event to showcase and celebrate the art of improving lives. Each year CoachArt honors Champions who’ve made a difference in the philanthropic world by bringing hope and courage to children living with chronic illness.

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founding Partner

Jeremy Zimmer is Chief Executive Officer and a founding partner of premier global talent and literary agency United Talent Agency. Zimmer has represented leading creators in entertainment, including Andrew Adamson (SHREK; CHRONICLES OF NARNIA series), Noah Baumbach (THE SQUID AND THE WHALE), Anthony Hopkins, director-producer Frank Marshall (BOURNE FRANCHISE, SEABISCUIT), and video game giant Electronic Arts.

Over the past decade, Zimmer has established UTA as a pioneer in digital media.  Since 2006 when UTA launched it’s online division, the agency has gone on to form a Social Media division, representing emerging technology platforms, and provide consulting services to brands and causes.

UTA’s first mover status also continues in the agency’s work as an incubator, providing clients with critical advisory and financial services to build digital-based businesses in a variety of sectors.  Most notably, Zimmer led the effort in incubating client Brian Robbins’ next-generation media company AwesomenessTV, now one of the fastest growing channels on YouTube, and negotiated its ground-breaking sale in spring of 2013 to DreamWorks Animation, the first ever incubation-to-exit of a media company conducted by a talent agency.

Co-Anchor, “Good Morning America”

Robin Roberts is co-anchor of ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Under her leadership, the broadcast won three consecutive Emmy Awards for Outstanding Morning Program. In her role, she has conducted interviews with countless musicians, authors, athletes and celebrities. Roberts’ headline-making interviews include President Barack Obama on his support of gay marriage, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg on the site’s new tool to save lives, and NBA Superstar LeBron James on his announcement to play for the Miami Heat.  Roberts has done extensive reporting around the globe, travelling to Brussels with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; to the Middle East with former First Lady Laura Bush, who was on a mission to raise awareness about breast cancer in the Muslim world; to Haiti in the wake of the devastating earthquake; and to South Africa to report on the World Cup.

Roberts was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2007. Her courageous and public battle has been recognized with awards and honors from organizations around the country, including The Susan G. Komen Foundation, The Congressional Families Cancer Prevention Program, and Gilda’s Club, a non-profit organization founded by the late Joel Siegel.

Five years later, Roberts was faced with another health battle. In June 2012, she was diagnosed with MDS or myelodysplastic syndrome, a disease of the blood and bone marrow once known as pre-leukemia. Roberts underwent a bone marrow transplant in September of that year, her sister Sally-Ann was a perfect match. Roberts story triggered an outpouring of support from across the nation. She joined forces with Be the Match to inform the public about the need for more donors, and since her diagnosis over 56,000 people have joined the registry. Roberts made a triumphant return to the anchor desk on February 20, 2013, five months to the day since she underwent the transplant.

Anchorwoman, WWL-TV

Sally-Ann co-anchors the highest rated local morning news program in Louisiana. Alongside co-anchor Eric Paulsen, they provide a blend of news and entertainment each weeknight on Channel 4's Eyewitness Morning News. Sally-Ann began her tenure at WWL-TV on March 31, 1977. As a City Hall reporter, she covered city government during the administrations of Moon Landrieu, Ernest Morial, and Sidney Barthelemy. She has won numerous awards journalistic excellence from the Press Club of New Orleans, Louisiana Associated Press, Radio and Television News Directors Association and the New Orleans chapter of Women in Communications.

She has reported thousands of stories over the years but is most inspired by reporting positive news stories. Her Quiet Hero reports, which feature impactful community volunteers, took on added poignancy post Hurricane Katrina. In 1994 Sally-Ann co-founded with Cathy Harris the mentorship organization Each Save One. Over the years, the non-profit organization has recruited, screened, trained and placed hundreds of mentors in schools and organizations across the metro area.

For work in the community, Sally-Ann has received awards and recognition from the Young Leadership Council, YWCA, Junior League, Toastmasters International, Kiwanis International, The Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge, New Orleans Black Social Workers, The Children's Defense Fund and The New Orleans Conference for Community and Justice formerly known as the National Conference of Christians and Jews. In 2006, Sally-Ann was recognized by City Business as one of the 50 Women of the Year in Greater New Orleans. That same year she received an honorary Doctorate from Our Lady of Holy Cross College. In 2008, Sally-Ann and Eyewitness Morning News co-anchor Eric Paulsen received the Blue Ribbon Award from the Louisiana Center for Women.
