What has gone won’t come back. Now, what will we create together?

We warmly welcome you to Strange Field this November to explore this question with us.

Gaelic Futurisms is a multimedia contemporary art exhibition examining the endangerment of Gaelic language as a collective loss of shared human knowledge, heritage, and culture, echoed throughout all people who have lost their native tongues. Featuring multimedia contemporary artworks by emerging and established artists, poets, and performers, Gaelic Futurisms invites you to explore how revival of marginalised languages and knowledges might offer new perspectives on diversities of human experience, ways of imagining our relationships with the planet, and new possibilities for our shared futures.

With a new body artworks by Annabel Stewart, Cashlin NiCoinnich, Choirstaidh NicArtair, Danielle NicLeòid, Rodrigo Arteaga, Ruth Hamilton, and Sigi Whittle, and poetry and performance by Evie Waddell, Seonid MacIain, and Lisa MacDonald.
