Gaelic Film Night
The Seachdain na Gàidhlig Edinburgh Gaelic Festival is pleased to showcase two films on this Film Night: one fiction and one factual, to promote Gaelic language and culture, followed by a Q&A with the film-makers.
Tron Doras is a film written by Paul Crone in Gaelic with English subtitles. It follows the protagonist's, Ruaraidh, progression through the bureaucratic nightmare that is death.
Shepherds of Berneray is a poetic documentary from 1981 about a community of shepherds in the Outer Hebrides. With a painterly sense of light, and an ear for Hebridean song and story, it paints a moving portrait of a community on the verge of change.
Previous publicity has stated a 6pm start, but this event will start at 7pm.
