Old Town Senior Tours

Local History Site Tours

Interested in learning more about your city’s history? Join Beatley Central Library and Senior Services of Alexandria (SSA) as we tour Old Town and visit some of its most valuable landmarks. Alexandria has a rich history, and this is a great chance to see it for yourself! This month, we will visit Gadsby's Tavern.

Named for Englishman John Gadsby who operated the Tavern and Hotel from 1796 to 1808, Gadsby's Tavern was a hub of political, business and social life in early Alexandria. Patrons included George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams. This tour will allow you to explore this historic landmark and dive into the history of Alexandria.

Tours are free and transportation will be provided, but space is limited.

Limit of 15 participants for each tour, so RSVP today!

Meet at Beatley Central Library at 10:00 am and return by 1:00 pm.
