This is a wonderful charity event to promote making good decisions like not being too emotional when dealing with children. I can imagine when Pearl Fernandez, Gabriels' mother and her boyfriend, Isauro Aguirre, were treating 8 year old Gabriel so badly in 2013, they thought 'I am so tired of this kid, he doesn't put his toys away, etc.' He did not put his toys back and was beaten unconscious; a sock was stuffed in his mouth to muffle his screams. He died 2 days later when taken off life support.

My motto: Seek the best things in life! Therefore I hope to see a wide variety of challengning sports: Breakdance, olympic weightlifting, climbing barriers, lifting "stones", my patented jumping device, . There will also be things that "non-athletic people will feel comfortable with push ups, pull ups, or using a band is ok, if you need it. For the more athletic: push ups with extra weight, pullups with extra weight.

What I have heard on the radio and read

Gabriels' injuries: Cracked skull 3 cracked ribs Shot in groin, (genitals?) with BB gun Burns all over his body. 8 months, (after Isauro moved in with family), of beatings, not enough to eat, shot in the face with a BB gun by his mother, cigarrette burns on head, 2 teeth knocked out when his mother hit him a kids baseball bat, forced to wear girls clothes to school, called "gay"- I think by his mother & Isauro, forced to eat cat feces, that is all I can recall for now.

His teacher talked with county workers several times about evidence of abuse, papers were filed, not much was done to help the kid. A sherriffs' deputy came by to check on Gabriel after complaints that a kid was being beaten; Isauro met him at the door and said Gabriel was asleep, and was ok. The deputy said 'Ok', but did not look at the boy or talk with him.

Funds will be donated to 1st Southern Baptist Church of Buena Park and Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach, (minus expenses, of which there may not be any).
