Description

Join the debate about your rural and agricultural future during a farm visit to the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust's (GWCT) Allerton Project farm at Loddington, Leicestershire.

Who should attend? Any YFC member who has an interest in future farming, conservation and the countryside.

What's on offer? A free event developed and delivered by NFYFC and A Focus On Nature.

See how integrated farming, wildlife and game conservation work hand-in-hand during the farm visit. Hear messages from key note speakers Quentin Clark, LEAF's director of business collaboration and policy adviser and farmer Ed Barker. Listen to and challenge the panel of speakers and exchange ideas with young conservationists from A Focus On Nature.

Members of the panel include GWCT's Jim Egan, Warwickshire YFC member David Goodwin, farmer Emily Norton, policy adviser and farmer Ed Barker and Quentin Clark. The afternoon session will be chaired by land agent and rural commentator Rob Yorke.

Programme

  • 10-10.30am - Arrive, Tea/coffee

  • 10.30-11am - Introduction from Allerton Project staff Jim Egan, Dr Alastair Leake and Phil Jarvis - 'How an integrated approach to farming and the environment can work

  • 11.15am - 12.45pm - Farm walk led by Allerton Project staff

  • 1-1.30 pm - LUNCH

  • 1.30 - 2-30pm - Ed Barker and Quentin Clark/Q&A

  • 2.30 3.30pm - workshops facilitated by speakers

  • 3.30 - 4.00pm - Tea coffee depart
