Event description

Description

How do world events drive technological and social change? Events such as the Civil War, WWII, and the War on Terror create demand for innovation, permanently alter our cityscapes, and provide both opportunities and challenges for the people who live through them. The Brooklyn Navy Yard is one of few places where one can examine these changes simultaneously. We will share how to use the Brooklyn Navy Yard as a case study for change in your history classroom and help your students understand how historical events shape people’s lives in both the past and present.

Brooklyn Historical Society is an approved provider of CTLE credits. Participating teachers will receive five (5) hours for completion of this workshop.
