Join us on July 19th at 7PM for an inspiring and engaging conversation on the Future of Social Impact Marketing with experts from Pencils of Promise, HiSpire, Cause Marketing Summit, and Shared Value Media sharing their insights on trends, challenges, and opportunities in social impact marketing. Our panel will define what social impact marketing is, share examples on how you can use new marketing strategies and tell powerful stories to drive social change.

You’ll also have an opportunity to network with like-minded people from the Be Social Change Community and walk away with a better understanding of how purpose-driven organizations strengthen their stories and identities so they can drive growth and amplify their impact.

Amanda Brown, Lead Graphic Designer, Pencils of Promise

Amanda Brown is the Lead Graphic Designer at Pencils of Promise (PoP), an organization dedicated to creating a future where all children have a chance to succeed. PoP supports teachers, builds schools and provides health and sanitation programming to students in Ghana, Guatemala, and Laos. Over her 5 years at PoP, Amanda has worked to bridge the gap between PoP students and donors through visual storytelling, students photos, data visualizations and creative design. During Amanda’s tenure at PoP, the for-purpose organization won Adweek’s 2016 Brand Save Award and partnered with legendary brands such as Stuart Weitzman, Microsoft, Guess and Warby Parker. She studied graphic design at Hunter College and lives with her husband, Matt and dog, Molly Moopy in Brooklyn.


Jamie Caroccio, Co-Founder & Copy Strategist, HiSpire

Jamie Caroccio is the Co-Founder & Copy Strategist at HiSpire, a copywriting and development agency she started with her husband. She is passionate about helping organizations that fight to protect people and the planet. Jamie helps non-profits, social enterprises, and social impact leaders increase awareness around their cause and amplify their impact. She does this by helping them craft their message and marketing so they can get inside the mind of their ideal customer, speak to their heart, and empower them to take action. Jennifer Richey, Founder, Cause Marketing Summit

Jenn Richey is a communications and development professional with over 10 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors. She is the Founder of the Cause Marketing Summit, an annual event that works to unite the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. By day, she serves as the Associate Director of Corporate Partnerships for Young Survival Coalition, an NYC based nonprofit where she manages over 20 key partnerships with companies dedicated to supporting young women facing breast cancer.

Ms. Richey strives to connect and share ways to penetrate the public and engage individuals around pertinent issues via effective communications and outreach strategies. Her passion is in forging relationships between businesses and nonprofit organizations to shape change, raise money and awareness. Connect with her @CauseMktgNYC.


Cal Zarin, Founder, Shared Value Media

Cal Zarin is the Founder and Principle of Shared Value Media (SVM). Founded in 2011, SVM works primarily with municipal and quasi-city agencies to drive participation in programs and events. The outreach firm leverages local and citywide partnerships, new technologies, and culturally-responsive content to help their clients achieve scale and create shared value. Shared Value Media is working, or has worked, with clients such as the NYC Economic Development Corporation, The NYC Mayor’s Office of Workforce Development, the NYC Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence, and the Mayor’s Fund to Advance NYC, among others.

Before launching SVM, Cal led a consulting practice where he supported the fundraising and programmatic objectives of national nonprofits. Among his many roles, Cal was hired to support the launch of Up2Us and Coach Across America, launched the ‘Six Months to Success’ program in partnership with Veterans Across America, Veteran Affairs, Rutgers University, and the Department of Labor, ran all programming, fundraising and communications for (NYC’s largest digital media organization), and served, in a consulting role, as the National Director of Communications and Development for America SCORES for three years.

Prior to that, Cal led the Carat Brand Experience NY office and was a key member of the national Aegis new business team, representing the out-of-home capabilities of the holding company in key brand pitches, including SEARS/KMART, Orbitz, Kohler, and others




Marcos Salazar, CEO, Be Social Change

Marcos Salazar (@marcossalazar) is a social entrepreneur, career + life coach, consultant, speaker, and community-builder. His passion is working with professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives to help them find and do purposeful work, connect with like-minded people, and lead sustainable lifestyles. He does this through 1-on-1 coaching, nonprofit and businesses consulting, and on a larger scale as CEO of Be Social Change where he’s built the largest social impact community in New York City. Marcos earned a B.A. in Psychology from Amherst College as well as a Masters in Organizational Management and an Executive Leadership Coaching certificate from The George Washington University.
