Future of Health Policy in an Aging America

The Harvey A. Friedman Center for Aging, in partnership with the Center for Health Economics and Policy, is hosting the 17th Annual Friedman Lecture & Awards to explore the future of health policy in a rapidly aging America. Our keynote speaker, Marilyn Moon, PhD, will discuss Medicare and other federal programs and policies relevant for older adults and what we might expect in the coming years. Dr. Moon's keynote will be followed by an audience discussion with Dr. Moon, Timothy McBride, PhD and Edward Lawlor, PhD. Join us at the Eric P. Newman Education Center on the Washington University Medical Campus.

ABOUT THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Marilyn Moon, PhD
Keynote speaker Marilyn Moon is the Director of the Center on Aging and an Institute Fellow at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) where she writes about health policy, Medicare reform, consumer engagement, and issues facing an aging society. Dr. Moon is an expert on health care financing and delivery and specializes in policy analysis and translation of complex findings into materials useful to policymakers and consumers.
From 2003-2013, she directed the Health Program at AIR and has served as a senior fellow at the Urban Institute, a senior analyst at the Congressional Budget Office, and an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Dr. Moon also chaired the Maryland Health Care Commission from 2008 to 2012 and was a public trustee for the Social Security and Medicare trust funds from 1995 to 2000.
Currently, Dr. Moon is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and she serves on a number of boards for non-profit organizations including the Medicare Rights Center and the National Academy of Social Insurance- where she also received the Robert M. Ball award for outstanding achievements in social insurance in 2014.
LOCATION AND PARKING
The Eric P. Newman Education Center is located at 320 S. Euclid Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110. Please utilize levels 6-7 of the Metro Parking Garage located at 4560 Children’s Place on the corner with Taylor Avenue. This garage also includes handicapped parking. Validation tickets will be available for the Metro Garage.
The MetroLink and Bus Stop is the Central West End station. Ascend the stairs or use the elevator to Euclid Avenue and turn right towards EPNEC.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
1 CEU for social work is available to attendees. Please bring $10 cash or check and complete the Social Work CEU form at check-in. We will also provide certificates of attendance for attendees to receive continuing education credits from other professional boards; register at the check-in table.
