Northwestern Mutual, along with tech education consultant Gufsky, is holding another FREE FinTech MeetUp event – Future of FinTech in Milwaukee.

The event will take place on September 6th, 2017 at 5:00 pm at The Box. Food and drinks will be provided to fuel the energizing conversation.

FinTech plays an important role in growing our city, and innovation in this space will help drive local businesses and our economy forward. The Future of Fintech in Milwaukee event will kick off with the CEO of local FinTech startup, Shift Savings, sharing their company’s story. Next, we will feature expert speakers on Artificial Intelligence (AI) from Northwestern Mutual who will define it, share real world examples, and offer practical direction on how to begin leveraging AI in your business. The event will conclude with a networking activity where each of you will help shape what the Future of FinTech in Milwaukee looks like.

Technology and finances are topics that affect everyone in one way or another and this event aims to provide an engaging learning experience and the opportunity to exchange ideas with FinTech thought leaders in the community.

Meet Our Speakers:

Craig Sweeney - Founder and CEO of local FinTech Shift Savings which is focused on creating financial wellness and employee benefits that make change happen.

Chandran Govindaswamy has been a Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual since 2004. He spends his days designing and developing software for NM’s Client Planning and Sales. Chandran holds a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University India and Masters degree in Software Systems from the University Of St. Thomas in the Twin Cities. He has 15+ years of development experience in designing N-Tier systems using Java, .Net, Database systems and is proficient in Machine Learning/AI.

Josh Pollack is a Research Analyst on the Digital Innovation & Research team at Northwestern Mutual. He provides analysis on technological trends and enablers. His research focuses on disruptive innovation, the future of work, and automation. Before his work at NM, Josh spent over ten years working in various research, compliance and human capital roles. Josh has an undergraduate and graduate degree focusing on economics and human capital from the University of Cincinnati, and he holds a law degree from Marquette University Law School.

Christopher Miller has been with NM since May of 2016 as part of the Digital Innovation and Research Team. While this team's work is generally technical in focus, Christopher is particularly interested in how "soft" factors contribute to or inhibit the uptake and acceptance of various technologies in our daily lives--reflecting his background studying US Urban History in grad school and teaching college history for over 10 years. In his spare time, Christopher works for Major League Baseball supporting and operating computer systems that track pitches and players, produce broadcast output, and manage the timing of the on-field play.
