Event description

Description

The Future of Education: SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING PANEL is the fifth event in a series of monthly educational panels and debates at CIC Miami dedicated to investigating the topic of education from various perspectives.

This month's panel is dedicated to discussing the importance of social-emotional learning—or "soft skills." There seems to be a census in the belief that soft skills are increasingly important in the professional world for various reasons. The central question will be about whether social/emotional learning should be actively taught in the classroom/overtly built into curricula, or whether it should be left to parents/non-profits/third-parties, and related questions that may emerge from that.

  • MICHAEL RAGHEB | Founder, CEO at Knowledge of Careers, Inc.
  • JOHN LEVERSTON | Program Officer at United Way of Miami-Dade
