Description

The Future Leader Academy presented by Bobby Dodd and Dr. Neil Gupta is a one-of-the-kind institute where participants will acquire the essential steps to land a leadership position and become a great leader. What makes this academy unique is the relevant and state of the art facilitation from leaders and practicing administrators. Participants will get practical tips, strategies and insights on how to be successful as administrators and leaders. Participants will also be able to connect with the instructors in person and also using social media tools to answer and questions or concerns while trying to obtain an administrative position.

Each class will meet at the Franklington branch of the Columbus library on the evening of May 6th. The classes consist of "sessions" last will last 45-50 minutes on specific topics. Each session will include different instructional methods such as:

    • Direct instruction;

    • Videos, personal experiences, Google Hangouts with other educators, sharing of examples;

    • Small group activity;

    • Whole group share;

    • Journal Take Away/Work on Hiring Plan

    • Use social media to share with others around the world and get their input on the topics to share with the whole group.

    • “AP - PY” Hour Networking opportunity after each conference day

  • How to Build Your Network to Build Your Career

  • What Makes You Unique?

  • Using innovation as a leader

  • What to expect as an administrator

  • Your First 30 Days

  • Certificate of Completion

  • Copy of PDF workbook “Essential Steps to Educational Leadership”

  • How to create a “1st 30 Days on the Job” plan

  • Create their own Digital Portfolio with essential items for employment and leadership such as:

    • Resume

    • Cover letter

    • Videos from different leadership experiences in the classroom

    • Blog posts

    • Important professional links

    • Innovative programs/methods used in class/building to try different things in class

  • Coaching feedback on current experiences and recommendations for future opportunities for development

  • Host “Cohort Coffees” on Saturday mornings and on Voxer.

  • Opportunity to earn graduate credits through Ashland University
