TUMBAO:

Formed by seasoned musicians from all types of different genres and backgrounds (and we mean all different types), Tumbao is a high-energy Neo Latin Jazz band with a sound reflecting the many different flavors of Latin America. Salsa, Bossa, Funk, Cumbia, Latin-Rock, R&B, Jazz and Brass are many of the sounds we incorporate in our music. Our mission is to make you dance like never before.

Latin Music has long been a strong force in America and the World. Since the Afro Beats mixed with the native people of the Americas, fusions of Latin Music have become primary cultural staples in various countries. Salsa, from the streets of Black and Spanish Harlem during troubling times for people of color, Bossa Nova from the jazz clubs of Brazil with pioneers such as Jao Gilberto taking Samba music to new dimensions. From the shores of Santo Domingo would come a sweeping revolution of Bachata and Merengue with beats such as the famous ‘Perico Ripeao’ revolutionizing the way people dance.

Today we still see the progress of Latin Music through our radios with Caribbean super stars such as Bad Bunny, Juan Luis Guerra, Marc Anthony, Gloria Estefan, and so many more. We are seeing the ongoing evolution of a Music and its people through it. Come along for the ride!
