Join us on Thursday, October 8 for a training on fundraising and individual giving for community-based archives.

This training is being organized by the Community Archives Collaborative (CAC). Formed in 2019 with a planning grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the CAC creates a space for community-based archives practitioners across the country to collaborate, share skills, trainings, and best practices, leverage pooled resources, and provide peer-to-peer mentoring in order to support long-term sustainability and growth at our institutions. This training will be led by Staci Coomer.

Staci Coomer has served as a fundraising professional for close to two decades, raising over $250 million for nonprofits domestically and internationally. As a Certified Fundraising Executive, she has led fundraising programs across multiple sectors including healthcare, humanitarian response, immigration, and climate.

Staci has helped organizations achieve significant outcomes in external relations including fundraising, advocacy, communications and marketing/PR-designing and implement significant fundraising programs, serving as a lead communication representative for national organizations and leading advocacy efforts in DC on national issues related to the federal immigration and refugee program. Staci has been characterized by executive colleagues as an intelligent, genuine and dynamic force for positive change.

Staci has had extensive fundraising and public relations training-including fundraising planning and strategy, planned giving, government grants and contracting, and extensive media and presentation training. She holds bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in business, with a focus on management and leadership. Staci lives in Midcoast Maine and currently serves as a consultant to mission-centric nonprofit organizations seeking to positively impact performance and revenue growth capacity.
