Description

To register for this training course, you must have successfully completed the following prerequisites: HIV 101 for Clinical Staff or HIV 101 for Non-clinical Staff, STIs 101, and SC HIV/STD Laws.

This two-day training course is designed to share best practices to successfully apply high-quality HIV counseling, testing, and referral (CTR) services. Participants will learn to use a quality assurance process for client-focused HIV prevention counseling to support individuals in making behavior changes that will reduce their risk of acquiring or transmitting HIV. Skills for administering risk assessments for HIV and STD testing will be practiced and demonstrated.

Intended audience: health educators, outreach workers, mental health professionals, nurses, public health professionals, social workers, and substance abuse professionals.

Registration begins at 8:30am and training will begin promply at 9am.
