About this event

Take your bread baking to the next level

Join Anthony Ambeliotis for our newest bread class, Fundamentals of Bread Baking with Whole Grains.

Anthony, production manager & co-owner of Mediterra, will teach you the all the basics of making artisan whole grain bread, as well as an in-depth (and delicious) hands-on & engaging education on its versatility.

During this course, Anthony will walk you through all of the steps to complete your artisan bread creation, from the mixing and shaping to the baking process.

Once the baking is finished, students will feast upon the fruits of their labor by enjoying it fresh out of the oven, alongside a meat and cheeseboard provided by Mediterra Café. All ingredients will be provided for students to build and enjoy their own delicious creation.

After this class, you'll walk away with:

  • baking fundamentals
  • the science behind dough fermentation
  • the history behind and versatility of Roman dough
  • the skills to make, shape, and bake artisan like a pro
  • gifts + goodies from the bakehouse

  • Recipe
  • All necessary ingredients & baking supplies
  • Towels & aprons
  • Light snacks

Students will also get a behind the scenes tour of our Pittsburgh bakehouse, as well as the opportunity for a Q&A with some of our most experienced bakers. Bring your questions!
