Special 2-Part Functional Fitness Training Series


Class Time 1: 8:30AM – 10:00AM Friday, September 15th AND Friday, September 22nd

You want to maintain physical independence for the entirety of your life.

Think about all the ways you move your body every day just going about your regular Activities of Daily Living. We call upon our bodies to be able provide us with strength, flexibility, endurance and balance to do just about any activity that we partake in - making your bed, putting away groceries, getting dressed, cleaning the house, walking to the mailbox or simply sitting down (and standing up).

While these activities may require some effort, they shouldn’t be perceived as difficult. But unfortunately, as our bodies begin to reflect signs of unhealthy aging, they can be.

There is truth to the adage of, “If you don’t use it, you lose it.”

Muscle loss along with a loss of flexibility and loss of balance contribute greatly to the experience of aging.

Here’s the great news. It’s never too late to make improvements to your physical fitness.

You are invited to a special two-part class series in which you will reconnect your body through expert guidance and gentle movements.


Each class will begin with a series of warm-ups to engage your heart and skeletal muscles.

Your first session will introduce you to a variety of different movements and exercises geared towards enhancing your balance. Core strength is essential to our ability to move well so you will also be shown a group of exercises that strengthen the muscles in your abdomen and back. The class will progress to demonstration and discussion around cardiovascular activity and knowing how to make the most of your heart-healthy efforts.

Your second session will focus on specific exercises to target strength and endurance increases in your larger muscle groups. You will be shown the proper form and technique for a series of movements that use your own body weight, free weights and resistance bands for training. These exercises will be demonstrated and then performed in a small circuit, allowing you to rotate through various stations while working at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Both sessions will conclude with a stretching series that can promote flexibility and healing.


Class size is limited to 3 participants per class so don’t delay in pre-registering.

Cost is $60 for the series.
